On Sunday, March 25, 2012 Fotomission and Tropicolor hosted at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden the 8th South Beach Photomarathon, an exciting event that was open to all those who enjoy photography. Participants were assigned six topics to photograph on South Beach over a period of five hours. The topics, Abundance, Scarcity, In, Out, Pattern, and Texture, were kept secret until the event day and were purposefully vague to give the contestants plenty of room for self expression.
The best photos from each topic were selected, and from those the first, second and third place winners will be awarded cash prizes as well as plexi mounted prints of their images. The winners will be exhibited at Tropicolor's gallery during the month of May and permanently on this site along with all the contestants' images.
This year our panel of judges selected the finalists, and the participants voted for the winners. The judges' dicision is final and irrevocable.
